The Kent County Board of Education approved the following calendar for the 2012-2013 school year. Copies of this calendar will be sent home to each student.
August 16-17: New Teachers report
August 20-23: Returning Teachers report
August 27: FIrst Day of School for Grades K-6 and 9
August 28: School in session for Grades K-12
August 29: First Day of School for Prek
August 31-September 3: Labor Day Weekend, No School
September 17: 90 minute delayed opening-School Based Professional Development
October 17: Parent-Teacher Conference Day for Elementary and Middle School, Classes for High School
October 18: Professional Development Day, School Closed (All Hands Day)
October 19: MSEA Convention Day
November 21-23: School Closed, Thanksgiving Holiday
December 3: 90 Minute Delayed opening, School Based Professional Development
December 21: Last Day of school before Winter Break
December 22-January 1: Winter Break
January 2: First Day of School After Winter Break
January 18: Early Dismissal-1/2 Day Schedule-School based Professional Development/Grading Day for High School
January 22: Professional Development Day (Turnaround Day the KCHS)
Januray 23: First Day of Second Semester
February 15: Early Dismissal (Half Day Schedule)- School Based Professional Development
February 18: President's Day Holiday, No School
March 25- April 1: Spring Break- School Closed
April 18: Early Dismissal (Half Day Schedule)-School Based Professional Development
April 19: State Conference Day- No School- Professional Development Day
May 27: Memorial Day- No School
June 1: KCHS Graduation
June 14: 1/2 Day Early Dismissal- Last Day for students
June 17: Last Day for Teachers
